Wednesday Night Races

6:00 PM (5:15 PM arrival for setup)

This year we are looking forward to a fun and eventful youth sailing program. We had a great group of Opti sailors

last year and hope to build on our 2018 achievements. The sailing program is designed to teach children the fundamentals

of sailing andlearn a life-long skill and sport. Ideally, we hope to ignite the competitive flame so our children progress from

general lessons to racing on Wednesday nights and eventually competing in off-lake regattas. Generally, the children’s

ages range from six to fifteen years old. The most important characteristic for young sailors is their ability to

pay attention, listen to instruction and want to have a lot of fun on the water.

Recently, we had two regatta winners, one second place regatta finisher, and numerous respectable finishes by our sailors.

In order to continue this great progress, we have expanded our sailing hours to more closely match other sailing schools.

I have noticed our sailors were getting significantly fewer practice hours than other sailing clubs. More sailing hours will not

only make your child’s sailing experience more enjoyable, but more competitive and successful in local regattas.
